In Pictures: Dalma Sailing Festival's 60-foot Dhow Race

The third Dalma Sailing Festival dhow race with a prize money of AED 25 million took place on the coast of Dalma island organised by Abu Dhabi Sailing and Yacht Club.

Emirati competitors sail their dhows as they take part in the Dalma Sailing Festival in the waters of Abu Dhabi's Dalma Island.

The highlight of the festival is the traditional 60-foot dhow race run over 80-nautical miles.

The 60-foot traditional sail boat race drew 120 boats and over 3,000 sailors from across the emirates.

A record prize money of AED 25 million for the first 100 boats to cross the finishing line and five cars for the first five winners.

The race starts from Dalma Island and will pass by Sir Baniyas Island, Ghasha Island, Um Al Kurkum Island, Al Fatayer Island, Al Bazam Island, Marwih Island, Jananah and the finishing line at Al Marfa Town.
