Five Saudi Cities To Host FIFA World Cup 2034 Matches Across 48 Teams

Saudi Arabia’s capital city, Riyadh, tops the list of five host cities for the FIFA World Cup 2034.
Jeddah, Al-Khobar City, Abha, and NEOM City are the other cities where the soccer matches will be played in the 2034 FIFA World Cup which the Kingdom will be hosting.
“Hosting the FIFA World Cup 2034 is a national priority. Saudi Arabia aims to organise an exceptional event that reflects its ambition to become a new destination for sports and athletes and an important international strategic centre for global tourism,” a commentary on the country’s plans by the state news agency SPA said.
“This vision leverages the geographical diversity of the Kingdom’s various regions and cities,” it said.
The tournament plan promises exceptional experiences for participants and audiences, providing them with the opportunity to explore a rich collection of cultural sites and some of the world’s most diverse natural environments, including eight sites listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Guests will benefit from integrated and luxurious transportation options, with access to 16 international airports, extensive road networks, railways, and public transport buses.
Riyadh, besides being the administrative and financial centre of the country, is the largest in terms of area and population, and is also preparing to host other significant events like the 2027 AFC Asian Cup, the 2030 World Expo, and the 2034 Asian Games.
On the Red Sea coast, Jeddah, the second-largest city by area, is distinguished by its coastal location along ancient trade routes.
Al-Khobar City, a distinguished tourist destination in Saudi Arabia, is integral to the Eastern Region’s urban hub, alongside Dammam, Dhahran, Qatif, Al-Ahsa, and Jubail, while Abha, the capital of the Aseer Region, is a key urban centre with a rich tourism legacy.
The NEOM City in the Red Sea coast is a testament to the Saudi Vision 2030 and a pinnacle of global innovation in development.
