One Indian Dead, 63 Injured In Iranian Attack On Kuwait International Airport

The injured included civilians, airport workers, and travellers, ranging from shrapnel and blast-related wounds to fractures, head injuries, brain hemorrhages, amputations, and smoke inhalation cases

Dubai: The latest Iranian attack on Kuwait International Airport this morning has resulted in the death of one person and 63 injuries. The dead person was identified to be an Indian national.

A statement issued by Kuwait's Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, June 3, strongly condemned the blatant and ongoing Iranian attacks using ballistic missiles and drones, the latest of which occurred this morning.

"These attacks once again targeted civilian and vital facilities, including Kuwait International Airport, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to others, as well as damage to vital installations, including diplomatic missions," the statement said.

"The Ministry affirms the State of Kuwait’s categorical rejection of Iran’s blatant acts of aggression, which escalate tensions, undermine the security and stability of the region, and constitute a flagrant violation of international law, the Charter of the United Nations, and Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026). The Ministry emphasizes that the security, sovereignty, and safety of the State of Kuwait, its citizens, and residents are a red line that cannot be crossed.

"It affirms that the repetition of these attacks represents a systematic and aggressive approach, which the State of Kuwait will neither accept nor tolerate. The Ministry affirms that the State of Kuwait reserves its full and inherent right to take appropriate measures to respond to these blatant and repeated Iranian attacks, in accordance with international law."

The official spokesman of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, announced public hospitals have received 63 cases of injuries and conducted 7 urgent major surgeries, noting that the health system continues to remain prepared for any emergencies round the clock.

Al-Sanad said that the cases were distributed across several hospitals, including 34 cases at Farwaniya Hospital, 17 at Jaber Hospital, 5 at Jahra Hospital, 3 at Al-Adan Hospital, 2 at Al-Amiri Hospital, and one case each at Al-Sabah Hospital and Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital.

He added that seven cases have undergone urgent major surgical procedures, in addition to several minor surgeries, while medical teams continue to monitor critical cases requiring intensive care or advanced treatment.

He noted that the distribution of patients across multiple hospitals was carried out in accordance with national emergency plans to ensure efficient medical response and optimal use of available clinical and specialist capacities.

According to Al-Sanad, the injured included civilians, airport workers, and travellers, ranging from shrapnel and blast-related wounds to fractures, head injuries, brain hemorrhages, amputations, and smoke inhalation cases.

He noted that emergency and ambulance teams were deployed immediately to the airport after receiving reports, conducting rapid triage and providing urgent care before transferring patients according to medical priority.

Al-Sanad also confirmed that the health system activated its emergency protocols, including full mobilisation of medical staff, heightened readiness in emergency departments and intensive care units, and coordination across all relevant state agencies.
