Look: New Dubai Photos From 400km Away

Dubai: A NASA astronaut has grabbed the attention of UAE social media users after he posted several photos of the UAE while up in space.

Scott D. Tingle posted the captivating photos on social media recently, as the astronaut was travelling 400 kilometres up in space.

In the photo, viewers can see Dubai’s coastline with the iconic Palm Jumeirah as well as several of the emirate’s other man-made islands.

While flying over the region, Tingle also posted aerial views of Bahrain, the Strait of Hormuz and the Indian Ocean, which was accompanied with the caption: “the UAE, Bahrain, Iran, the Straits of Hormuz and the Indian Ocean in daylight.”

The Strait of Hormuz is a strait between the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, and provides the only sea passage from the Arabian Gulf to the open ocean.
