Prosecution says defendants infiltrated military zone with weapons in coordinated operation targeting state security

In a statement, the prosecution said a number of individuals affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard were arrested after illegally entering Kuwait’s territory, crossing maritime borders and infiltrating a prohibited military zone. They were detected and intercepted by armed forces personnel tasked with securing the site.
Dubai: The Kuwaiti Public Prosecution announced on Thursday that it has referred defendants linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard to the competent court to stand trial for the charges against them.
In a statement, the prosecution said a number of individuals affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard were arrested after illegally entering Kuwait’s territory, crossing maritime borders and infiltrating a prohibited military zone. They were detected and intercepted by armed forces personnel tasked with securing the site.
The statement added that the incident revealed a coordinated operation carried out with prior planning, using boats and navigational equipment. The suspects were found in possession of weapons, ammunition, and communication and surveillance devices, allegedly intended to target military, sovereign and security facilities.
According to the prosecution, the actions — including organised planning, concealment and alleged attempts to kill security personnel by opening fire — constitute a hostile act targeting the state’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and security, and aimed at undermining stability.
The prosecution confirmed that it launched an immediate investigation after the suspects were referred to it. The investigation team questioned the accused, reviewed evidence, conducted a field inspection of the site, and collected physical and technical evidence, in addition to taking statements from witnesses and security personnel.
The General Department of Criminal Evidence was tasked with conducting specialised examinations of the seized weapons, ammunition and devices, analysing evidence and completing technical comparisons as part of the investigation.
The Public Prosecution stressed that the sovereignty, territorial integrity and security of the state are protected by law and cannot be compromised.
It added that the charges — including violation of sovereignty, infiltration of a restricted military zone, targeting sensitive facilities and attempted killing of armed forces personnel — constitute crimes under the 2025 Decree Law on Combating International Crimes, as well as other provisions of the Penal Code.
The acts also violate the 2026 Decree Law on protecting the supreme interests of military authorities, which governs the security of military zones, borders and sovereign facilities.
The Public Prosecution reaffirmed that Kuwait’s national security and territorial integrity are non-negotiable, stressing that the law will continue to address any actions that threaten the country’s stability and sovereign interests.
