Airline temporarily halts Wednesday departures as emergency plan activated following damage to airport infrastructure

The airline confirmed in a statement that passengers will be exempt from any fees for ticket cancellations or changes made on Wednesday’s flights only. It also urged passengers seeking information to contact customer service inside Kuwait via 171 and from outside Kuwait at  96524345555. Kuwait: Kuwait Airways announced the rescheduling of its affected flights during the suspension period on Wednesday, with new timings to be announced later.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had earlier announced the activation of an emergency plan at Kuwait International Airport after the passenger terminal suffered direct damage, along with runway disruptions that affected several departing and arriving flights.

The DGCA stated that operations at the airport have been temporarily suspended, with flights being diverted to nearby airports until all necessary security and technical measures are completed and the airport is confirmed ready to resume operations.

The authority emphasized that the safety of passengers and airport personnel remains a top priority and confirmed that updates will be provided as they become available.
