Know India Quiz For Young Indian Expats

Indian consulate invites youngsters to take part in the competition run by Ministry of External Affairs

Dubai: Young Indian expats in the UAE have the chance to participate in a ‘Know India Quiz’ organised by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs to motivate overseas Indian youth to develop interest to know and understand their home country.

The Indian Consulate in Dubai on Thursday encouraged Indian nationals and People of Indian Origin (PIO) residing in the UAE to take part in the second edition of the ‘Bharat Ko Janiye’ (BKJ) quiz.

The quiz will be open for overseas Indian youths between the age of 18 and 35 years, the mission said in a press release. It will be held for two distinct categories of participants — PIOs and NRIs (Non-Resident Indians) separately.

The quiz will be organised in four rounds.

The first round will be organised online/locally in May 2018. Medals will be awarded to the top three winners of each category, who will then participate in the second round of quiz (online), which will be conducted by the ministry in New Delhi.

The third and fourth rounds (semi-final and final round) will be conducted in India by the ministry in New Delhi.

All participants, who are invited for the on-site quiz (3rd and 4th rounds) would attend a workshop in New Delhi and participate in the ‘Bharat ko Janiye yatra’, a 15-day tour of India.

After the tour, the final round will be held in New Delhi and top three winners will be awarded medals at the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention 2019.

All expenditures for boarding and lodging would be borne by the Government of India, the consulate said.
